The short answer
You can buy Starlink in Nigeria in three ways: from a local supplier such as ZuraLink, from Starlink’s own online store, or from marketplaces and roadside sellers. The Standard kit costs ₦690,000 and the Mini ₦480,000 from ZuraLink as at 1 October 2026, with same-day delivery in most locations and pay on delivery in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
The kit is the easy part. What goes wrong for buyers in Nigeria is everything around it: a used kit still tied to someone else’s account, an account that fails identity verification, or a seller who disappears once the money lands. This guide shows you what to check before you pay, so you are online the same day rather than chasing a seller a week later.

Your three buying options, compared
All three can get you a genuine kit. They differ in how fast you are online, how you pay, and who helps when verification or installation goes wrong.
| ZuraLink | Starlink online store | Marketplaces and roadside sellers | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kit | New, sealed, checked before delivery | New, sealed | New or used; often unverifiable |
| Price | ₦690,000 Standard, ₦480,000 Mini | Starlink’s list price, paid online by card | Varies; cheapest offers are usually used kits |
| Delivery | Same day in most locations | Courier, usually days to weeks | Collect or courier |
| Payment | Bank transfer; pay on delivery in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt | Card, in advance | Cash or transfer, in advance |
| Activation and verification | Done for you (₦50,000), including the business-account route when NIN verification fails | Yourself, in the app | Rarely included |
| Installation | Available (₦120,000), same visit as delivery | Not offered | Rarely |
| Support after purchase | 24/7 by call or WhatsApp | Online ticket | Usually none |
When Starlink’s online store is the right choice: you are comfortable setting up the account and dish yourself, you don’t mind waiting for the courier, and you can pay by card online.
When a local supplier is the right choice: you want to be online today, pay on delivery, and have someone handle activation, verification and mounting. That is most homes and businesses, which is why ZuraLink has completed over 3,500 installations.
When to walk away: a seller who cannot show the kit’s serial number, cannot say whose account it is on, or wants full payment before you see the box.
How to tell a genuine kit
Starlink kits are not counterfeited in any meaningful way; the dish only works if Starlink’s network recognises it. The real risks are an incomplete kit, a used kit sold as new, and a kit that is locked to another account. These checks catch all three.
Before you pay
- Ask for the kit number. Every kit has a serial beginning with KIT on the box label and on the dish. A genuine seller gives it to you without fuss.
- Ask whose account it is on. A new kit is on no account. If the seller says it is “already activated”, it is used, and you need the transfer process described below.
- Confirm the generation. New Standard kits are Gen 3 (the current hardware revision is V4X). A “new” Gen 2 kit is old stock at best.
When the box arrives
- Check the seal and contents. Standard kit: dish, kickstand, Gen 3 router, 15 m Starlink cable, router power supply. Mini: dish with built-in router, kickstand, 15 m cable, power supply. A missing router or cable costs ₦190,000 to ₦390,000 to replace.
- Activate in your own name before the seller leaves. The Starlink app should show the kit on an account whose email you control. If activation stalls, the fault is usually the account, not the hardware (see verification below).
ZuraLink checks each kit’s number, contents and account status before it leaves the office, which is why delivery, activation and installation happen in one visit. See buy a Starlink kit.
New kit or used kit: the account-transfer trap
A used Starlink kit is worth buying only if the previous owner releases it from their account first. A dish in your hands is not a service in your name.
How a transfer works. The current owner removes the kit from their Starlink account (in the app under their kit’s settings). Only then can it be added to yours. Until that happens, the kit will not activate, no matter how much you paid, and the seller’s cooperation is the only way out.
Questions that settle it, in order:
- Has the kit been removed from your account? Ask to see the app showing no kit on it.
- Is there any unpaid balance on the old account? Starlink can hold a kit until it is cleared.
- Is the full kit present, including the original cable and power supply?
- Will you stay reachable until my activation completes?
The price difference rarely justifies the risk. A used Standard kit typically sells for ₦100,000 to ₦200,000 less than new. One missing Gen 3 router (₦390,000) or a kit that never transfers wipes that out. ZuraLink can check a used kit’s status before you pay, which is the only safe way to buy one.
Scams and bad deals, and how to avoid each
| What you see | What it usually is | Protection |
|---|---|---|
| “Brand new kit, ₦450,000, pay now to reserve” | A Standard kit cannot be sold new for that. Either it is used, incomplete, or there is no kit | Never pay in full before seeing the box. Pay on delivery where offered |
| “Already activated, just plug and play” | A used kit still on the seller’s account. You pay their subscription forever, or lose service when they stop paying | Insist on the kit being removed from their account and activated on yours |
| “Starlink dealer” on social media with no address | Many are middlemen with no stock; some vanish after the deposit | Buy from a seller with a physical office you can visit |
| A kit with a foreign address on the account | A kit bought abroad is on a plan for that region. It has to be transferred to a Nigerian address and plan before it works here | Confirm the transfer is included before paying. ZuraLink handles it for imported kits |
| “Subscription included for a year” at a round price | Subscriptions are monthly and in your own name; nobody can prepay a year on your behalf | Pay plans monthly, through your own account or a supplier you can hold to it |
ZuraLink’s offices are at 16 Oremeji Street, Computer Village, Ikeja (Lagos) and Golf Estate Shopping Mall, 217 Peter Odili Road (Port Harcourt). Both are open for walk-in buyers, and the company is registered as ZuraLink Limited (RC 9355178).
What happens after you pay
This is the part most buying guides skip, and the part that decides whether you are online tonight.
- Delivery. Same day in most locations when the kit is in stock. Delivery is ₦40,000 in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt and up to about ₦100,000 elsewhere, depending on distance. In the three cities you pay on delivery, by bank transfer.
- Activation (₦50,000). We create the Starlink account in your name, add the kit, set your service address and choose your plan. Most buyers start on the ₦89,000 unlimited plan.
- Identity verification. Starlink asks Nigerian customers to verify their identity, usually with a NIN, and sometimes with a verification letter from a telecom distributor. On a personal account the NIN upload is often rejected, and the letter is hard to obtain. When that happens, ZuraLink sets the service up on a business account instead, which verifies from the details you provide and gets you online without a long wait. This single step is the most common reason self-setups stall.
- Installation (₦120,000), same visit. Mount, cable, router placement and a speed test with you, usually two to three hours. Skip it for a Mini on a balcony; don’t skip it for a roof.
- First month’s plan and ongoing support. You pay ZuraLink the plan price monthly, and support is 24/7 by call or WhatsApp.
A Lagos family home ordered on a Tuesday morning is typically online by Tuesday evening. Each step’s cost is set out in the Starlink price guide, and activation is described in Starlink activation.
Buying outside Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt
The kit and plan prices are the same anywhere in Nigeria. Three things change once you leave the three cities.
- Payment terms. A 50% deposit confirms the order and the balance is due on completion, instead of pay on delivery.
- Delivery and survey fees. Delivery runs up to about ₦100,000 by distance, and a site survey (₦20,000–40,000, more for long distances) is worth it for buildings with uncertain roof access or obstructions.
- Who installs. ZuraLink has installers in every state. Your kit comes from Lagos or Port Harcourt, and a local engineer installs it.
You don’t need to travel to buy. Each state and major town has its own page with local details, from Ibadan and Benin City to Kano and Enugu. See all areas we serve.
